Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf will celebrate 181 years with a free Wharf birthday party Sunday. Hosted by the Fisherman’s Wharf Association, the public is invited to attend the free, family-friendly event with new activities, and live entertainment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Old Fisherman’s Wharf, 201 Washington St. “We want to celebrate the important history of Old Fisherman’s Wharf, and also invite the community to a fun, free event, community event, and you know we try to mix it up a little bit this year,” said Wendy Brickman, executive director of the Fisherman’s Wharf Association. Highlights of the day include live entertainment by Samba Legal, the award-winning Money Band will perform, there will be photo opportunities with festive decor, and a sea life-themed cake will be served at 3:30 p.m. at the Wharf Tent in front of Abalonetti Bar Grill.
