Raising Cane’s in San Jose may be bigger than first thought

SAN JOSE A new Raising Cane s in South San Jose is now expected to be somewhat larger than the initial vision for the dining establishment that s slated to replace a box store site on the property. At 1030 and 1040 Blossom Hill Road, the new Raising Cane s Chicken Fingers dining spot is slated to total 4,000 square feet, 1,000 square feet more than the previous proposal, documents on file with city planners show. Should the project move forward, it would require the demolition of an existing retail building totaling 19,000 square feet that is leased to a La-Z-Boy furniture store. The overall development timeline wasn t immediately known. The project proposes late-night operation from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., seven days a week, according to a city planning document. The restaurant will include indoor seating, an attached outdoor patio, a pick-up window section, and dual drive-thru lanes.
